Hill of Oaks – Reception and Facilities
As you enter through the South Gate, you will catch a glimpse of Windermere as you wind down past Blakeholme farmhouse, with its colourful array of plants and hanging baskets.
A short distance past the farmhouse, located by the lake is the Reception and Shop. The Shop is open daily through the season and has a fine selection of provisions including newspapers, milk, eggs, wine and beer as well as a selection of recreational goods. We also sell and exchange calor gas, if required we can arrange delivery for you.
There is a host of information on our local attractions and walks in the vicinity including our own wildlife walks through the woodlands for you to enjoy. Outside reception, opposite the boat park, is a landscaped lawned area leading down to the lakeshore, with benches and picnic tables.
The main launching slipway and piers are located in this area, please enquire at reception about access. Please enquire at reception for further information. We are on hand to help you make the most of your holiday.
The Play Area
We have a safe and secure play area with a range of equipment set on a base of wood chippings. One area is specifically designed to suit most children from nursery upwards. The play area is fenced and off limits to dogs. We do ask that children are adequately supervised so they can enjoy their play.
There is also an area set aside for older children to play ball games. Touring Area The touring area, ideal for touring caravans and motor homes with/without awnings is situated conveniently for the shower and toilet block. These are maintained to the highest standard and incorporate baby changing facilities, washing up area, laundry and family room with disabled facilities.
Each pitch has allocated space for a car, boat as well as outside space for sitting out enjoying a barbeque. A public telephone is located at the crossroads, so you can leave the mobile at home!
Holiday Homes
Location and private boating facilities for holiday home owners provide one of the most idyllic locations within the Lake District. On the opposite shore, our sister site Buck Yeats at Lakeside offers an exclusive lodge park with access to restaurants, bars and leisure facilities.
Many of our home owners have been converted from touring in previous years, a testimony to the excellence of the Park. All pitches have electric, mains water, drainage, television connection.
