Windermere hasn't always been one of England's premier visitor destinations. Did you know Windermere was once a thriving farming community? No?

Well there is so much more to Windermere than the surrounding picturesque scenery and delightful tearooms! On Tuesdays throughout October there will be a town walk led by a fantastic Blue Badge Guide where you can discover the history of this tourist hotspot!

EVERY TUESDAY THROUGHOUT NOVEMBER 2011 AT 2:00PM

Walk Information:

Meet at Windermere Tourist Information Centre for the following walks:

Duration of walk is approximately 1.5 - 2hours.

Prices:

Adult = £5.00

Child = £2.50

Chef Ooy, the No 1 Thai celebrity Chef in the UK will be hosting a Thai Evening on the 7th November at The Hydro Hotel to help raise funds for the CancerCare.

Thailand’s multi award winning queen of Oriental cooking will bring the finest cuisine of Asia, everyone who attends will be able to enjoy a true Thai experience with food tasting and traditional Thai dancing. Tickets cost £10 and are available from Cancer Care, Tel: 01524 381820 or just pop into Cancer Care, Lake Centre, Blackhall Road. Kendal Festival of Food presents the return of the Staveley extravaganza!

Calling all Foodies! The Hawkshead Brewery and Wilf's Cafe have joined forces to create a night of good food and great beer! The Beer and Curry Party will be held at The Hawshead Brewery, Staveley on the 28th October 2011 from 7;30pm. With a delicious Indian buffet, scrummy ales and live music from Stooshies - what a fantastic way to sample some of Lakeland's best offerings!

Located just a 15 - 20 minutes drive from our site.
