Water activities on Windermere
Hill of Oaks is located on the south-east side of Windermere and boasts exclusive lake frontage along the shore of the lake for around a mile.
If you are a self-catering, glamping, or seasonal touring guest, you're welcome to bring your own canoe, kayak, paddleboard, or inflatable, and make use of the slipways and piers. Charges apply - £20 per item, per stay. This can be added upon booking. Power boats are not permitted.
Holiday home owners are welcome to launch their own boats from the piers and slipways and have access to power boat storage facilities. Annual charge applies.
Windermere Lake Cruises pick up daily during the summer holidays from our twin piers and run a service to Lakeside . You can take a cruise from Bowness Pier a short drive away to visit The Lakes Aquarium, Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, or enjoy a cocktail or two at the Lakeside Hotel & Spa. Or you can travel further afield to Wray Castle, Bowness-on-Windermere, Ambleside and Brockhole. This service is currently suspended until further notice.
